Frequently Asked Questions

After the 24-hour warm up period, the Eversense E3 CGM needs calibration primarily once a day. Calibrating the sensor ensures the highest accuracy throughout your daily activities.

The simple answer is no. While you may optionally calibrate the Eversense E3 System more frequently, (daily calibrations entries must be spaced at least one hour apart), this will not impact the accuracy of the system.

You can view a snapshot of your Eversense® CGM data on your Apple Watch®. Once you’ve downloaded and installed the Eversense® mobile app on your mobile device, follow the Apple Watch® instructions for adding the app to your watch.

The Apple Watch® is a secondary display of Eversense® CGM data and should not be used in place of the primary Eversense® CGM display. The Watch cannot be used to connect to the smart transmitter directly.

It is safe for you to wear your sensor and smart transmitter when you go through metal detectors at airports. While flying, the smart transmitter performs similar to any other Bluetooth® device. Be sure to follow the specific safety guidelines mandated by the airline.

Please visit our Compatibility page for the latest information.

The Eversense® E3 CGM system will stop sending glucose readings after 180 days. To continue using Eversense®, you will need to have your current sensor removed and a new sensor inserted.

The Eversense® E3 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System is indicated for continually measuring glucose levels for up to 180 days in persons with diabetes age 18 and older. The system is indicated for use to replace fingerstick blood glucose (BG) measurements for diabetes treatment decisions. Fingerstick BG measurements are still required for calibration primarily one time a day after day 21, and when symptoms do not match CGM information or when taking medications of the tetracycline class. The sensor insertion and removal procedures are performed by a health care provider. The Eversense E3 CGM System is a prescription device; patients should talk to their health care provider to learn more. For safety information click here.
