Setting Alerts Tailored to Your Needs

Even with the best management plan, diabetes can still be unpredictable. In addition to Glucose Level Alerts, your Eversense 365 CGM System offers two other alert settings that, when activated, can help you manage sudden or unexpected changes in glucose levels: Predictive Alerts and
Rate of Change Alerts.

Predictive and Rate of Change Alerts

The Eversense 365 CGM System provides On-Body Vibratory Alerts via the smart transmitter, along with Audio and Visual Alerts on your mobile device, for both types of alerts.

Predictive Alerts

Receive an “early” warning 10, 20, or 30 minutes before your sensor glucose level is expected to cross the Low or High Glucose Alert Threshold, based on current glucose trends.

Rate of Change Alerts

Get alerted when your sensor glucose level is rising or falling faster than the Rate of Change threshold you’ve set.

Getting “Early” Warnings: Examples of What to Expect Once You Set These Alerts

Predicted Low Glucose Alert
  • In this example, the smart transmitter vibrates and the mobile app makes a sound while showing a “Predicted Low Glucose” message on the screen.
  • This alert tells you that your glucose level will likely reach the low alert limit in 20* minutes.

*You choose this time in your Settings. You can pick 10, 20, or 30 minutes before a high or low glucose event to be notified.

Rate Of Change Alert (Falling)
  • In this example, the smart transmitter vibrates, and the app makes a sound with a "Rate Falling" message on the screen.
  • This alert tells you when your glucose is dropping at a rate of 2.5* mg/dL per minute or faster.

*The rate of change is what you set in Settings. You can pick a rate between 1.5 and 5.0 mg/dL per minute.

Helpful Tips

It takes practice to figure out which alerts work best for you. Turn ON only the alerts that fit your diabetes management plan and your daily life. If you're unsure, talk to your healthcare provider for advice on choosing and setting the right alerts.

Using the Predictive Alert

You might not want the predictive alert turned on when you first start using the Eversense CGM system, but after some time, it can be very helpful. It may help you to avoid high or low glucose events.

Using the Rate of Change Alert

This alert lets you know when your glucose is changing rapidly. This could mean you forgot to take insulin with your meal or didn’t take enough. A rapid fall might mean your glucose is dropping fast, like after exercise..

Pay Attention to Your Readings, Symptoms and Trends

If your symptoms are different than the sensor glucose values or what the alert indicates, confirm your glucose value with a fingerstick, using a Blood Glucose meter, before making a treatment decision.

The Eversense® E3 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System is indicated for continually measuring glucose levels for up to 180 days in persons with diabetes age 18 and older. The system is indicated for use to replace fingerstick blood glucose (BG) measurements for diabetes treatment decisions. Fingerstick BG measurements are still required for calibration primarily one time a day after day 21, and when symptoms do not match CGM information or when taking medications of the tetracycline class. The sensor insertion and removal procedures are performed by a health care provider. The Eversense E3 CGM System is a prescription device; patients should talk to their health care provider to learn more.
